The crash of Western Airlines 2605 in 1979, when dense fog caused a DC-10 to land on a construction site, is another example of how atmospheric conditions in Mexico City create challenges for flight crew. Well done to the Delta pilots for avoiding what could have been a horrific accident.

MEX and NLU. Might one be the principal international airport and the other be the principal domestic? London, England, New York city, Washinton, DC are just three examples of multi airport cities.
