My capulines never look like that. I’ve been getting about a cupful daily from 3 young trees. I wish I could attach a picture. Ours are a lighter color (mas rosa) here in Oaxaca. Great read! Always love your info. Thank you

Hi Pamela, I wasn’t trying to draw any parallels to the song. Rather, just using the word strange as in unusual, since so many fruits in Mexico are found nowhere else.

Strange Fruit in your title immediately brings to mind the song Billy Holiday made famous, about lynching in the southern US after the Civil War. In the song, the strange fruits are bodies hanging from trees. Likely Author was unaware of the reference. Or it translated that way unexpectedly.
