All nations should publicly announce short, mid and long-term goals to their own constituents and to the world, and explain their methods to achieve those goals. These goals in Plan Mexico are forward thinking. I disagree with the idea that Mexico should concentrate on ‘solving’ the narcotraficantes and corruption. A war on crime or whatever you call it would be as successful as the US/worldwide ‘war on terror’ or the ‘war on drugs’. A Waron is a grift intended to win government contracts and divert monies from public goods and services to already rich people. Better to tackle the worst cases of poverty, and promote health, security (of your neighbors having work), education, food security and environmental health. Crime and corruption thrive in chaos; not as much in a well fed, educated, secure community.

If you don’t mention cartels, will the problem go away on its own?

Unfortunately the gov wants to take over the duties of a free economy for themselves, while somehow leaving out the most important role of government which is to protect people. That being said Mexico has handled the tariff issue as I knew they would, in a polite and non aggressive way. Good for them. Now provide more security and let’s see some arrests of government officials who are instrumental to the business of cartels.

That should of been plan 1. Local people are afraid to complain and report things. I they do there house gets burned down, families killed. All caused by bad cops and cartels.
