Such a sad statement about the U.S. even when she isn’t mentioned. Our sister countries are moving on without, and it hurts.

I saw a video in which Carney was standing with trump as trump went into an insane rant about how putin should be a member of the G7, that used to be G8 before putin was kicked out. trump was so unhinged that Carney stopped the press conference and trump later left. He could not stand being in the company of such a group of real world leaders, good people.

Thank you for this excellent summary of President Sheinbaum’s participation at the G7 summit.
I followed a lot of media reports on the Summit, but as always, most focused on Trump’s arrival, early departure, etc..
As a Canadian, I am proud of Mark Carney’s “direction” of the meeting. The list of non-G7 leaders invited to the Summit, from Sheinbaum, Zelensky, EU leaders, to important continental leaders from Brazil, Australia, South Africa and India, brought together the key world leaders open to peace, to more global cooperation and equitable trade.
It’s very clear that most of the participating leaders, just like Sheinbaum, are now talking about an abundance of positive bilateral meetings. Overall, this was the “free world” urgently building stronger connections in reaction the the chaos caused by the USA.
A big reason for the success of this meeting was obviously the fact that Trump left before the work really began. Had he stayed, he would have been in opposition with all other leaders on most issues, he would have hijacked the agenda… and remain the focus of all media reports.

President Sheinbaum terrifies the orange fascist. She’s smart, clever and a good person. Everything that trump is not. He left because he was surrounded by people from countries looking for better lives for their people. He only cares about himself.
