Those who most frequently criticize us are those who didn’t, or can’t, or won’t.

Chamaco: “Digital Nomads” is not what you describe. The phrase refers mostly to young people(but old too) who can make a living using internet skills ,+another skill, anywhere in the world where there is a fibre optic service. Most do NOT work out of cafes if they are serious employees with responsible positions. One of my friends is a specialized architect who does work analyzing the loads a high-rise buildings create and the materials needed to support such weights. No he is not 28; he is 75 and makes in the six figures. Another works for a Fortune 100 company, age 67) and is a world-class engineer in creating some of the most sophisticated new computer systems.

Some of us are living on limited fixed incomes and need to consider the cost.

Good reply Nellie. Unfortunately, there are too many angry Americans. Thanks for the interesting article.

Based on all his comments. Jim is just a Trump-loving troll.
Pay him no never-mind. He makes zero sense.

I guess you don’t have real estate investments there.

To me digital nomads are often rude and entitled people who do not respect the culture— very rarely will you find an actual Mexican in a cafe on their computer for hours. The photo of digital workers at a table on the beach is just wrong. If you want to work in a different country, that’s great, that’s not the problem. But don’t invade spaces where people go to relax or enjoy nature. That’s obnoxious and disrespectful. Rent an office or co-work space, contribute to the local economy with your rent. Or stay home! Anyway, a guide for people who actually want to respectfully experience Mexican culture, art, history, and all the wonders it has to offer listing top places to visit where you’re unlikely to find digital nomads would be a great read.
