Agree as to all comments above,

(and thus almost no need to import gasoline) i have heard this same BS from Pemex forever.

What we can be sure of is the they(??? whoever you suspect they is and you likely know) will increase the price of gasoline at the pump, they just can’t help themselves. The price of gasoline at the pump is the number one corruption of the Mexican society. i wish coca Cola would be appointed the administrator of Pemex.

self-sufficiency is a great strategy, generally speaking – but reviewing this “company’s” performance over the past decade or so (confiscation of oil production from operators in the gulf, acquisition of a refinery near houston that ran at operating losses for years, etc), all this will come at a high price to the consumer – all these goals are stated in gross terms, being totally one-sided (the PEMEX side)
