Is it really Mexico? La Paz has been able to thus far maintain its Mexican charm, only because it is far enough .If you want a Mexico experience, fly into La Paz and forget the whole southern California experience.

Thank you for sharing your experiences. For those of us unfamiliar with several of these places, this article is particularly helpful.

La Paz attracts more geezers and tons of Canadians seeking ‘Good Value”

While the younger set of mostly Americans who still have regular employment seem to prefer the high end resort hotels in Los Cabos.

In either case all visitors to Baja enjoy the incomparable and delightful
Charm of the Mexican people. When returning to the U.S. I am always struck with how unhappy our society is compared to theirs….oh dear

Started going there many years ago for scuba diving.

For me, La Paz is qualitatively different than the other towns you mention, in that it is a real Mexican city with a good dose of tourism, mostly low key. Los Cabos and Todos Santos, by contrast, are tourist towns with a good dose of Mexicans. Other than to see my lawyer who happens to have his office in Cabo, I never go there.

I am terrified for the fate of Cabo Pulmo. It’s a very delicate place.

I have wealthy California friends there that prefer to blend in and not be showy. It’s a good vibe.
