How much different is it from other legal careers? Is it impossible for someone without previous judicial experience to be a judge? And is it impossible for a partisan to become non-partisan when given/entrusted with the role of judgeship. MND can you consider a follow-up on these kinds of questions?

Oh, and he won the post with 5.3% of the votes on a total voter turnout of 12%, which borders on the absurd, me thinks!

It’s pretty common knowledge in Mexico that Benito Juárez was the first Indigenous Chief Justice of the Supreme Court. He was also the first (and only) Indigenous President. Maybe Hugo Aguilar Ortiz will be the second one!

And the first Indigenous Chief Justice of Mexico’s Supreme Court was Benito Juarez in 1857, who one year later became Mexico’s President.
