I know Mexicans in Montreal and are very happy there. However many want to get to California where even as undocumented they get free healthcare much superior to Canada’s.
I often fly from Guadalajara to Los Angeles as the only white person on the plane. I find myself looking and thinking many seniors on the plane will be picked up by their families never to return to Mexico.

The sane edition had stories reporting Mexico’s economic growth is projected to be “resilient” this year as another story also reported a projected drop this and next year: from 3.25% to 2.5% in 2024, to a similar drop in 2025. So many rosy pictures and yet.. what’s that snell?

Unless I missed it, the article shows Mexicans what the Canadian visa fee is in both Canadian and U.S. dollars.

Well, how about telling Mexicans what the fee is in Mexican pesos as of that date?

. . . it is somewhat ironic . . . Mexico INM has been raising requirements on individuals seeking Residente Temporal y Permanente visas . . . and yet they complain about Canadian entry requirements tightening ??? Those Cartels must be withholding funds to the government officials . . . and reverse lifestyle changes do come with pain . . .

I think what’s going on here is stopping Mexican citizens from flying to Canada and then go to the USA illegally from Canada. The Canadian government ( if you can call it a government in Canada here) get pressured from the USA government ( if you can call that a government ) not to let Mexicans do a double back going to Canada then crossing into the USA from Canada. I think this is the reason behind this policy, or what does the world think ??

This same edition has an article indicating fairly good economic growth and record low levels of unemployment. The government touts its social programs, increases in minimum wage and lower poverty and reduced inequality. Yet record numbers of Mexicans are requesting asylum in Canada and we know that there has been a resurgence of them seeking to enter the US as well. Seems that insecurity is real and the opposition is launching its campaign in the middle of one of the most violent areas in the country to highlight the issue.
