I was amazed and proud of what the iconic brand has accomplished. The world associates a sunny beach with a Corona and Mexico. How cool is that?

Thank you for reading it, Jorge! The mexican brands I consume, love and trust are Veinte Soles, Kalakapäla, and De mi Pueblo. When I can’t get them, McCormick’s pure vanilla extract is also a reliable option as long as you make sure is the pure extract, and not a syrup.

Comment on Mexico’s beloved corner stores are in danger of disappearing, new survey shows by Tosh88 https://mexiconewsdaily.com/business/mexico-tienditas-anpec-survey/comment-page-1/#comment-22052 Wed, 06 Aug 2025 20:06:53 +0000 https://mexiconewsdaily.com/?p=514932#comment-22052 This is not unique to Mexico. High rents unscrupulous landlord are also a problem. All the small shops in central Amsterdam are closing down to be turned into fancy eateries and this will happen in SMA with all the new hotels and upturns in tourist visiting who only want to pay with chip cards.

If gringos with kids want to move to MX, they will need to learn Spanish even in a bi-lingual environment.

Correction: Sounds like wishful thinking to suggest that the government subsidies will end in 2027. (not 2017)

And this is despite AMLO providing over $90 billion USD in government support through tax breaks and capital injections. This is what is known as a government dependent company. An oil company should be paying taxes and royalties into the public purse not drawing tens of billions from it. Pemex’s oil production is declining which means less revenue. Sounds like wishful thinking to suggest that the government subsidies will end in 2017. I hope I’m wrong. Maybe some can explain “energy sovereignty” to me. I always thought the debtor was slave to the creditor.
