And then there are the fish camps south of Puerto Escondido–villages of fishermen and their families created and supported by the government, with their own goat milk daries, vegitable gardens, solar arays, medical clinics and recreation centers, only reachable bo boat. If you ever get a chance, visit Agua Verde by panga! You’ll come back with new priorities.

Loreto is magical indeed! The drive from Vegas to Loreto is awesome! Have done it about 10 times by now! I post a lot of my trip experience on Instagram under austrian_mountain_man There are just so many magical places to see and experience Love the Baja,its people and the animals!

We have been living in Todos Santos for 7 years, with the last 4 1/2 in a fixer-upper we bought, which is a continuing adventure in itself. We have driven round trip from our home in Idaho near the Canadian several times. We absolutely love the Peininsula. I’m glad you’re finally exploring it. There is so much to see and do, and wonderful people in the ranches and towns. I hope you will venture to more areas here. There is plenty of news outside of Tijuana and Cabo San Lucas, including large government projects, mining proposals, conservation programs, etc.

Glad you finally made it Loreto Travis. My husband and I have lived here on and off since 2010. We have now been here permanently for 5 years. No matter where we travel too we are always happy to return to our home.

Incidentally, though I didn’t catch your car rental experience, every time I’ve rented in Mexico HAS been a nightmare. I just won’t do it anymore. Love the area of Baja you’re talking about!
