Hi Robin, sorry to hear that. The announcement about the temporary Puerto Peñasco closure came straight from the Mexican government at 11:30am this morning (the post is linked in the story). It was likely reopened later on after the Navy determined conditions were safe for navigation. Enforcement is another issue… I know that here in Mazatlán, determined fishermen often find ways to circumvent port closures.

It said the feds say they’ve closed ports for both small and large vessels. I received an immediate reply, there are boats out on the water. SO we were lied to I suppose, I am just the deliverer of information but now I look foolish. We are NOT a Pacific ocean port. This is how this rumor mill gets started, with misinformation. feds dont know their own country of ports.
