Good initiative! However, in San Carlos,Son., there is no control over the use of styrofoam in construction. One project on San Francisco beach released a lot of styrofoam that simply blew on to the beach in the breeze. No one cared, no building site supervisor was making workers cover up and secure the foam!
I dont know who is doing the fecal counts, but whoever it is is not watching or reporting plastic and styrofoam deposits into the ocean in that location

Hi Raymond,

Beaches in Puerto Escondido are not part of the initial focus, but I assume they will be as the strategy is rolled out more widely.

Ok, well clean beaches good. In my area we all pitch in, especially the beachside beaches. But 80 percent of that plastic waste lands on a beach? That’s goofy. The vast majority of people live inland in Mexico.
