Whether we in the Western world, dominated by and complicit with corporate power, know it or not, people like the Wixarita are keeping faith with the only life source humans have, the earth, which is our only hope of avoiding destruction.

Lake Chapala finally has a foothold in the UNESCO World Heritage system. The Isla Alacranes just in front of the Chapala malecon is a sacred cardinal point of this route. Will protecting the Isla mean protecting the lake?
