We have not and never will stop drug manufacture, smuggling, or use. We have spent $5 trillion trying since Reagan declared the war. I suppose a worldwide recession would make you feel somehow the more justice has occurred?

I live and work near the border and Mexico has definitely increased military and guardia soldiers, they are everywhere, plus there are many more check points now and less cartel sightings in my area, so don’t say they are doing nothing, you are typically misguided.
However I do believe it would help if Mexico would involve the USA military more to combat sophisticated carter activities. The trouble is who now trusts the US military with its bad leadership.

It doesn’t appear that the Mexican government can destroy the cartels, or even bring them in line with U.S. expectations. Perhaps the cartels and the Mexican government are one in the same. I’m wondering if the U.S. intends to occupy Mexico militarily. That may be a catastrophe for Mexico, but it may also be necessary if the criminal elements are ever to be brought down. Kinda scary….

Cartels are still running rampant and there is no attempt to dismantle them. Mexico deserves a 30% tariff until the cartels are destroyed.
