Facebook Changes Cover Photo Terms For Pages: An Advertising Opportunity

Facebook has silently changed cover photo policy for pages.  In Previous policy “call to action” text like “Order Now” “Hurry Up” “Buy Now” were not allowed on Cover Photo. And there was another restriction ,  not more than 20% text overlay.

According to new cover photo terms now you can have more than 20% of text overlay on cover photo and also you can add call to action text.

Here is a new Cover Photo Guideline

All covers are public. This means that anyone who visits your Page will be able to see your cover. Covers can’t be deceptive, misleading, or infringe on anyone else’s copyright. You may not encourage people to upload your cover to their personal timelines.

Previous Cover Photo Guideline was like below

All covers are public. This means that anyone who visits your Page will be able to see your cover. Covers can’t be deceptive, misleading, or infringe on anyone else’s copyright. You may not encourage people to upload your cover to their personal timelines. Covers may not include images with more than 20% text.

So What Next?

Companies will take maximum out of it now.. As Cover Pictures are publicly available it is now a big advertising opportunity for strategy makers. So , I believe lot of facebook cover photo change in next few months.
