Google’s new solution for untranslatable words

We know that there are some words in our Gujarati or in Hindi, which are untranslatable properly in English right? Sometime I used to wonder that untranslatable words could be a obstacle of growth or knowledge. I never dug deep in to this ever. But Google did…. 🙂

It was hard to find meaning for some words that was sure, Google’s this initiative will surely solve this problem and it will take NLP at another level ( my opinion)..

On Google input tools page Google has mentioned that

“Google Input Tools remembers your corrections and maintains a custom dictionary for new or uncommon words and names.”

This is a web tool called transliterate to write untranslatable word J , seriously I loved this tool but I did not understand  detail about it like how it works, what is main applicability. If anyone who is able to understand what is main application of this transliterate tool, please reply me on comment.  For me it is just useful to write Gujarati using English keyboard.

After using some powerful searches I found Google Transliteration

Here it is mentioned

“Google Transliteration IME is an input method editor which allows users to enter text in one of the supported languages using a roman keyboard. Users can type a word the way it sounds using Latin characters and Google Transliteration IME will convert the word to its native script.”

But yeah, one thing I am sure this is also part of the Google’s ambitious project Project Glass.  Google is rolling out plenty of small updates in various domains but I sense these all are part of Project Glass.  And I am now kind of believe Adwords will not be Google’s main source of income anymore.
